Best Ideas To Enjoy Spring In Madrid

Our favorite time of the year has finally arrived, and in spring, Madrid becomes even more beautiful. The pleasant weather invites you to enjoy the city outdoors, enjoying its incredible gastronomy, history, nature and culture. We share with you our favorite plans to enjoy spring in Madrid.

Go shopping

Shopping is always a good idea, and in Madrid you will find stores for all tastes and budgets. We recommend a stroll along the Gran Vía, the most emblematic street of the city. As it is spring, it will not be too hot, and although it is usually a very busy area, it will be a little less crowded than in summer. Another ideal area for shopping is in the Salamanca neighborhood: La Milla de Oro, which includes the streets of Serrano, Velázquez, Ortega y Gasset and Juan Bravo. There you will find national and international luxury stores and very exclusive boutiques.

Have a picnic

Good weather, nature, snacks and the best company: spring is the perfect time to go on a picnic! In Madrid you will find several ideal places to make this simple but charming plan. Our favorites are the Cerro del Tío Pío, the Vistillas Garden, the Retiro Park, the Temple of Debod or the Parque del Oeste. In addition, in many of them you can enjoy breathtaking views or contemplate spectacular  sunsets.

Strolling through its parks

Did you know that Madrid has more than 150 parks and gardens around the city? During the spring, these become magical places where its vegetation, fountains and lakes will amaze you. Of course, you can't miss the aforementioned Retiro Park, where you can even go boating. On the other hand, be sure to visit the Cultural Landscape of Aranjuez, the Capricho Park, the Quinta de los Molinos Park, the Sorolla Museum Gardens and the Sabatini Gardens

"Terrazeo"

Who does not like to relax on a terrace in the sun with a drink and some tapas? One of the favorite plans of both tourists and locals is to enjoy the terraces offered by many bars in Madrid. Just walking around any area of the city you will find dozens of places where you can enjoy a beer along with the appetizer of your choice. Some of our favorite terraces are El Viajero, Ginkgo Restaurante & Sky Bar, Azotea del Círculo and Ella Sky Bar.

Practicing outdoor sports

Another activity that will allow you to enjoy the incredible spring weather and the nature of Madrid is playing sports outdoors. From running, skating or cycling along Madrid Rio to hiking in La Casa de Campo, the city also has several outdoor gyms where you can exercise for free. Finally, if you are looking for a central, quiet and comfortable accommodation in Madrid, our apartments are for you. Make your reservation!

Now that you know our favourite ways to enjoy spring in Madrid, why not complete your experience with a bit of culture? If you're a theatre lover, don’t miss our article on the best theatres in Madrid, where we highlight the most iconic venues to enjoy a great show in the city.
